Finding the right nanny starts with understanding your family — your children, your schedule, your routines, and the kind of person you want caring for your children.
Experience and education matter, but they're only part of the picture. I also look at personality, temperament, energy, communication, reliability, and the way a nanny connects with children.
My goal is to introduce you to someone who not only has the experience and qualifications you're looking for, but who also feels like the right fit for your family and your everyday life.
What I Look For
Finding the right nanny isn't about checking every box. I look at the whole person and how they could fit into your family.
Experience — What kind of childcare experience do they have? What ages? What responsibilities?
Education — What knowledge and education do they bring? A college degree is required for consideration.
Personality & Temperament — Will personality and temperament complement your children and family?
Energy & Engagement — Do they bring the right energy? Playful, active, calm, nurturing, adaptable based on family needs?
Communication — How do they communicate with parents? Can they work collaboratively and become a trusted part of the household?
Reliability & Professionalism — Can your family count on them? Do they take responsibilities seriously and follow through?
Values & Fit — Do their values and approach align? Can your family picture them as a natural part of everyday life?
I'm looking at more than what someone can do. I'm looking at who they are and whether I can see them fitting into your family.
A Personal Approach to Finding the Right Fit
Every family is different, and I don't believe there is one type of nanny who is right for everyone.
I take the time to understand what makes your family unique — your children, your routines, your schedule, your expectations, and the kind of relationship you want to have with your nanny.
I personally get to know the candidates I consider for your family, not just their experience and qualifications, but their personality, temperament, energy, communication style, and approach to childcare.
My goal is to find someone who meets your needs on paper and in person — someone who has the experience and qualifications you're looking for, but also someone who feels like a natural fit for your family.
You know your family. I know nannies.
What You Can Expect From Me
I believe finding a nanny should feel personal, not overwhelming.
From our first conversation through the placement process, I’ll be the person you’re working with. I’ll get to know your family, manage the search, personally review and screen candidates, and make introductions based on what I believe will be the right fit.
I’ll be honest with you throughout the process. If I don't think a candidate is right for your family, I won't introduce them simply to give you another option. And if something isn't working, I'll listen, ask questions, and adjust the search.
My goal is to make the process feel more manageable while still giving you the final say in who becomes part of your family’s life.
How It Works
A straightforward approach to finding the right fit.
1. I start with you.
I begin with a conversation about your family, your children, your schedule, and what you're looking for in a nanny. I want to understand not just the requirements of the position, but what makes your family your family.
2. I search for the right candidates.
I personally search for nannies who align with what you're looking for. I consider experience, education, availability, personality, temperament, energy, and the type of care your family needs.
3. I screen and get to know each candidate.
Before I introduce a candidate to your family, I personally review their qualifications and complete the appropriate screening and verification. I also take the time to get to know who they are beyond their résumé.
4. I make the introduction.
When I believe I've found someone who could genuinely be a good fit, I'll share their profile with you and explain why I think they could be right for your family.
5. You decide what's right for your family.
I'll help facilitate the next steps, but the final decision is always yours. You'll have the opportunity to meet the candidate, ask questions, and decide whether the connection feels right.
The goal? To find someone who works on paper and in person.
